Pulmonary transplant is a new procedure which is being progressively introduced in our hospitals. Therefore, all technical aspects related with the procedure are of relevant clinical interest. Methods of lung preservation are specially important in view of the extreme sensitivity of the lung to ischemia. In this study we report the techniques of preservation and the procedures to detect the viability of the lung under preservation.
