Se estudian 130 casos, enfermos y normales a los que se les practican cateterismo derecho con determinación de la PAP y se intenta establecer correlaciones con el diámetro de la arteria pulmonar derecha inferior medido en una radiografía posteroanterior de tórax a una distancia foco placa de 1,5 m.

The authors study 130 cases, patients and healthy subjects, submitted to right catheterism with determinations of the P.A.P.; and attempt to establish correlations with the diameter of the inferior right pulmonary artery measured in a posteroanterior radiography of the thorax at a focus-plate distance of 1.5 m.
The authors feel the systematic determination of the diameter of the inferior rigth pulmonary artery in a radiography of the thorax is useful, as besides the ease of measuring, there is also an acceptable correlation of results. It is a radiological sign that can indicate the necessity of carrying out more complex studies in order to avoid a pulmonary arterial hypertension.
