Se analizan las variaciones del fibrinógeno y de las plaquetas en el curso de las neumonías tanto bacterianas como víricas: el primero aumenta notablemente en la fase inicial para normalizarse cuando el proceso va curando por lisis; lo contrario sucede con las plaquetas. Se establece la significación pronostica de tales oscilaciones, la cual no depende del cuantum de variación, sino de la forma en que se producen: cuando el fíbrinógeno tiende a normalizarse y las plaquetas suben por encima de los valores normales el proceso está en fase de franca curación. Se hacen unas consideraciones fisiopatológicas al respecto y se señala la necesidad de nuevos estudios a fin de aclarar el porqué y el cómo de estos hallazgos.
The authors analyze the variations of fibrinogen and of platelets during the course of pneumonias, both bacterial as well as viral: the former increases notably during the initial phase becoming normalized as the process is cured by lysis; the contrary happens with the platelets. The prognostic meaning of said oscillations is established. The meaning does not depend on the quantum of the variation, but rather on the in which it is produced. When the fibrinogen tends to become normalized and the platelets rise above the normal values, the process is in a frank phase of curing. Finally, the authors make some commentaries on the physiopathological process and indicate the necessity of new studies in order to clarify the cause and the functioning of these findings.
