Dos aparatos tipo De Vilbiss y uno tipo Roomate III fueron estudiados ininterrumpidamente durante 576 horas, divididas en períodos en los que se situaban 6 diferentes flujos en cada aparato. El consumo eléctrico era de 1,63 A/h para los de De Vilbiss, siendo 1,30 A/h para el Roomate. El valor medio de las 48 lecturas señaldas por los aparatos era de 1,78 i 0,9 1/min, siendo los valores medidos por un debímetro Constreñía de 1,95±0,9 1/min y 1,81±0,8 1/min, para cada uno de los de Vilbiss y de 1,93±0,8 1/min para el Roomate III. Las concentraciones de oxígeno alcanzadas por los aparatos eran superiores al 90% en los distintos flujos medidos. La producción de ruidos era muy similar en los tres aparatos. Ambos modelos son exactos, precisos y lineales y con ellos se obtienen aceptables concentraciones de oxígeno.

Esta modalidad de producción de oxígeno tiene ventajas sobre otras formas, a condición de que se asocie con una esmerada asistencia y control técnico.

Two De Vilbiss type and one Roomate III type mechanical devices were assessed continously over 576 hours, divided in several periods during which six different flow rales were tested for every device. Electrical power consumption was 1.63 A/h for De Vilbiss and 1.30 A/h for Roomate III devices, respectively. The mean of the 8 values recorded by the devices was 1.78±0.9 1/min, while the corresponding values measured by a Constrema flowmeter were 1.95±0.9 1/min and 1.81±0.8 1/min for the two De Vilbiss devices and 1.93±0.8 1/min for the Roomate III device. Oxygen concentrations reached by the devices were above 90% in the several flow rates measured. The intensity of noise was very similar for the three devices. Both models are accurate, precise and linear, and provido acceptable oxygen concentrations. This. form of oxygen delivering offers some advantages over other forms, provided that a good technical assistance is ready available.
