Los autores estudian estadísticamente, mediante el empleo de la t dependiente, las modificaciones conseguidas en el pH, presión parcial de anhídrido carbónico, Exceso de Bases, presión parcial de oxígeno arterial y gradiente alvéolo-arterial de oxígeno, tras la reexpansión terapéutica del pulmón, en una serie de enfermos afectos de neumotorax, respecto a los valores gasométricos previos. No se encontraron variaciones en los parámetros ácido-base ni en la presión arterial de anhídrido carbónico, pero mejoró la oxigenación arterial en los neumotorax de etiología traumática y yatrogénica, alcanzando significación estadística en ambos grupos. El gradiente alvéolo-arterial de oxígeno disminuyó de un modo estadísticamente significativo en todos los grupos, salvo en el portador de bronconeumopatía grave subyacente.
The authors study statiscally, using the dependent, the modifícations obtained in the pH, partial pressure of carbonic anhydride, excess of bases, partial pressure of arterial oxygen and alveolo-arterial gradient of oxygen, after the therapeutic reexpansion of the lung, in a series of patients suffering from pneumothorax, with respect to the previous gasometric valúes. Neither variations in the acidbase parameters ñor in the arterial pressure of carbonic anhydride were found, but the arterial oxygenation in the pneumothorax of traumatic and iatrogenic etiologies improved, both groups reaching statistical significance. The alveolo-arterial gradient of oxygen decreased in all groups, except for the carrier of an underlying grave bronchopneumopathy, in a statiscally significant way.
