Two cases of double pulmonary and esophageal neoplasia, one being synchronic and the other metachronic which had undergone exeretic surgery are presented. A review of the literature on double aerodigestive neoplasms was performed reporting the risk and the most frequent associations. Despite the bad prognosis of these patients radical surgery is proposed as the treatment of choice as long as this is possible in accordance with oncologic and functional criteria with maximum respect to functional respiratory capacity in exeresis of the pulmonary neoplasm. Likewise, the use of chemoprophy-lactic agents, princiapally retinoid agents which have proved to be effective in the prevention of epidermoid cancer is reviewed. The prophylactic use of the same still requires large scale prospective studies which allow their beneficial use to be determined in patients with aerodigestive neoplasms.
