Resumen

Se ha evaluado la respuesta de un espirómetro electrónico que utiliza como transductor un termistor, comparándola con la de un espirómetro de agua Lode de 10 litros de capacidad. Se han realizado 140 tests a 35 pacientes y se han comparado en cada uno de ellos la FVC y el FEV1 medidos con ambos aparatos. No se ha observado una diferencia estadísticamente significativa en los valores obtenidos con ambos aparatos para el FEV1, mientras que en la medición de la FVC el espirómetro electrónico ha dado un valor medio del 6 % en defecto con respecto al obtenido con el espirómetro de agua. Se discuten los resultados desde el punto de vista de la utilización del espirómetro electrónico en la práctica diaria.

Summary

The authors have evaluated the response of an electronic spirometer that uses a termistor as transducer, comparing it to that of a Lode water spirometer with a 10 liter capacity.

One hundred forty tests have been made on 35 patients, and in each one of them the average FEVC and FEV1 have been compared with both spirometers. Por the values obtained with both instruments of the FEV1, no statistically significant difference was found. In the measurement of the FVC, however, the electronic spirometer gave an average value of 6 % in defect with respect to that obtained with the water spirometer. Finally the authors discuss the results from the point of view of the use of the electronic spirometer in daily practice.
