Neumonitis varicelosa en el adulto previamente sano

Se presentan 2 casos de neumonía varicelosa en pacientes previamente sanos, cuyo único factor de riesgo conocido era la existencia de hábito tabáquico importante.

Ambos fueron tratados con aciclovir por vía parenteral y evolucionaron favorablemente, aunque en uno de ellos presentó un patrón espirométrico restrictivo, con disminución de la DLCO, que se normalizó a los 3 meses del alta hospitalaria.

Two cases of pneumonia associated with chicken pox in previously healthy patients are described. Their known risk factor was heavy smoking.

Both were treated successfully with parenteral aciclovir, although one presented a restrictive spirometric pattern with lowered DLCO that became normal 3 months after discharge.
