La causa más frecuente de tumores en el mediastino posterior en jóvenes suele ser los tumores neurogénicos. El meningocele se ha descrito excepcionalmente como causa de masa en dicha región, y los casos se han comunicado fundamentalmente en pacientes con neurofibromatosis. Presentamos un caso clínico de un paciente con neurofibromatosis tipo I y meningocele intratorácico.

Posterior mediastinal tumors in young people are most often neurogenic. The presence of a meningocele has occasionally been described as causing mass in the region and cases reported have mainly been in patients with neurofibromatosis. We describe a patient with type I neurofibromatosis and intrathoracic meningocele.
