Summary

The authors study two groups, one with 36 normal persons, and the other with 25 subjects with chronic clinic symptomatology and normal spirographic tracings. They compare the flows (V) to 25,50, 75 and 85% of the FVC in the flow volume curves (MEFV) and the relations V˙ 75%/V˙ 50% and V˙ 85%/V˙50% of the FVC in the two mentioned groups. No significant differences were found between them.

They then study the times te-0-79 te-25-79, te-50-100, te-75-100 graphic FVC and the mesospiratory MMEF50-100 priographic MMEF75-100 flows, and again compare both groups with the same results.

The authors conclude stating that this procedure was not useful for detecting the possible alteration (presumably of the small paths) that the symptomatology suggests in the group of pathological subjects.
