We studied the cells contained in the bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) performed to seven patients with carcinomatous lymphangitis.

A high percentage of lymphocytes in the bronchoalveolar lavage was found in two patients. These results suggest that carcinomatous lymphangitis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of diseases that result in lymphocytosis in the bronchoalveolar lavage.
