Se presenta un paciente de 56 años con hiperplasia gigante de ganglios linfáticos o enfermedad de Castleman del tipo de células plasmáticas (la variedad menos frecuente), que debutó con síndrome de impregnación y polineuropatía periférica, llegándose al diagnóstico por tora-cotomía. A propósito del caso se revisa la literatura, extendiéndose sobre la anatomía patológica y la inmuno-histoquímica.

A 56-year-old man is reported with giant lymph node hyperplasia of Castleman's disease of the plasma cell type (the less common variety). She presented with im-pregnation syndrome and peripheral polyneuropathy. The diagnosis was made by thoracotomy. On the basis of this observation the relevant literature is reviewed, with particular comments on pathological and immunohistochemical changes.
