Describimos las complicaciones de la toracocentesis y la biopsia pleural con aguja, concluyendo en la bondad y utilidad de ambas técnicas. Se describen el neumotórax, hemotórax, contaminación bacteriana y alteraciones funcionales como complicaciones principales, siendo otras de menor entidad las de menor frecuencia.

The authors describe the complications of thoracocentesis and pleural biopsy with needle concluding with the goodness and usefulness of both techniques. Pneumothorax, hemothorax and bacterial contamination and functional alterations in addition to the principal complications are described, with others of lesser entity being of lower frequency.
