This study reports 37 patients with malignant lesions who underwent different types of pulmonary resection and bronchial resection-reconstruction. A correlativo analysis was made between the incidence of postoperative complications of bronchial wedge and circular resection, localization of the tumor, and the time significant correlations existed between the highest incidence of complications and wedge resection (p<0.001); between the high incidence of fístulas and the localization of the tumor at the lobar bronchium (T2-3) (p<0.05); and a greater number of complications during the first 7 years (p<0.001). The indications for this type of surgery are discussed. Data from this study are also compared with other series of the literature.
