Summary

Pleural calcifications, especially in the diaphragm or bi-laterally, are characteristic of long term asbestos dust exposure. The cases described in the Spanish literature, usually occurred in workers in industries using imported asbestos. The case described bellow calis attention to the fact that, although asbestos mining is only small-scale in our country, it must be kept in mind when radiological or clinical alterations suggestive of asbestos exposure are seen.
