Se estudian los hábitos tabáquicos de 461 escolares asturianos de dos colegios de EGB, uno de ambiente rural y otro de ambiente urbano.
Pertenecían a los cursos 5.°, 6.°, 7.° y 8.°, formados por alumnos de ambos sexos con edades medias de 10,6, 11,8, 12,5 y 13,7 años respectivamente.
El tabaquismo habitual aumentaba progresivamente desde 0% en el 5.° curso a 15% en el 8.° curso.
Se estudia también el tabaquismo ocasional de los niños y los hábitos tabáquicos de los padres, profesores, amigos, así como su interdependencia.
Smoking habits of 461 asturian priman school pupils of two EGB schools, one in a rural environment and the other in an urban environment, are studied.
They belonged to the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th school years, that were constituted by pupils of both sexes whose average ages were 10.6, 11.8, 12.5 and 13.7 years respectively.
Regular smoking gradually increased from 0% in the 5th school year to 15% in the 8th school year.
Occasional smoking in children and smoking habits in parents, teachers, friends and their interdependance are also estudied.
