Summary

The authors present the statistics from their department which consist of 47 bronchopulmonary tumors and pseudotumors. Following Spencer's embryogenic classification. they present the epidemiologic, clinical-radiological and therapeutical data of these cases, and describe the surgical results, with only one case of mortality and scarce morbidity.

They also discuss the common therapeutical and clinical aspects, ' derived from the endobronchial location and the differential characteristics of histologic varieties. The evolutive capacity of the cystic adenoid carcinomas is also emphasized.

In the surgical area, the authors insist on the necessity of preserving the máximum of functioning parenchyma.

Finally, they present the group of bronchopulmonary pseudotumors with their points in common and their differences to the so-called benign bronchopulmonary tumors.
