Summary

The authors study there groups of patients grouped according to clinical criteria (chronic bronchitis, emphysema and bronchial asthma) and compare them with a control group of healthy individuais.

They study the relations volunte/pressure in almost static conditions, specific functional; global and its inverse, as well as the maximum inspiratory pressure.

The authors conclude that the maximum inspiratory presure, global compliance and its inverse, total elastance are some magnificent parameters for the differential diagnosis between chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
