Se describe un caso de derrame pleural benigno por asbesto, entidad infrecuente, que se enmarca dentro de la patología pleuropulmonar asbestósica. Se detallan las características clínicas de nuestra observación y se revisan aspectos generales de interés para este tipo de reacción pleural.

A patient with benign pleural effusion caused by asbestos is reported. This is an uncommon disorded that can be included within the asbestos induced pleuropulmonary di-seases. The clinical features of our patient are discussed, and general concepts relevant to this type of pleural reac-tion are reviewed.
