A series of 25 patients with bronchogenic carcinoma (18 in Stage I; 3 in Stage II and 4 in Stage III) were treated with minimal surgical resection.

Following the intervention the survival rate was 35% for 52 months, surgical mortality was nil and there few complications. This type of resection is considered a useful part of surgical treatment for bronchogenic carcinoma, mainly for patients in Stage I and those functionally incapacitated.
