Stress and subjective unpleasant emotional conditions play a main role in precipitating asthma attacks. Autogenic psychotherapy proves to be an efficient adjunct treatment in asthma achieving a decrease in the scores of the different scales used in our study (IRE-32 items, SCL-90 and SDS). Significant differences were only obtained in SCL-90 somatization scale and SDS.
